Yessss I mean, who DOESNT want to read something that’s been a movie starring Tom Hardy? ?‍♀️ Seriously though, it’s a highly underrated classic. I might love it more than Austen’s work. ?

Yes. It’s a very good classic. I really hated Catherine (the main female protagonist) but I kinda liked twisted Heathcliff he was so simple that it made him complicated.

I read it in high school and couldn’t really tell you much about it today, but I just remembered thinking that it disturbed me Heathcliff’s obsession with Catherine and how it played out. It kinda creeped me out

Just finished it. Totally captivating. The chracters are hard to understand and yet they are so easy to fall in love with.

The best romance classic everrrr… Read if u like tragedies, Gothic settings, and a brooding dark male lead who is probably the pioneer of the stereotype 🙂

Yes, one word: intense. I hardly remember some books I have read, even though at the moment I was in love with them, but one scene struck me from the book–Catherine (was it?) in a bout of insanity, thrashed her pillows and arranged the feathers lol Jane Eyre is more tempered down 🙂

❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ one day when I have dogs, (not cats) they will be literary names…. I do admit Heath is at the top of my list for a child some day.

1
Angelique

Thank you, I hated it too! The characters were selfish and poison to any they came in contact with

2
Megan

@Angelique so question… since we are book sisters in our comment hatred for Wuthering heights…. have you read Anna Karenina? If so, what did you think?

0
Angelique

I have not. I read the synopsis and couldn’t entirely stomach it. It shocks everyone when I say I don’t like it but really Cathy and Heathcliff are such disgusting people, I can’t muster up any sympathy for them

2
Emily

It was okay… I read it in high school for English and I just didn’t like the story between Catherine and Heathcliff.

One of the masterpiece novel in english literature by Bronte. Before reading it you need to have some ideas about Gothic novel because it is a Gothic novel.
Happy reading!!!

It was well written but I hated the character Heathcliff and the relationship he has with Catherine. I am considering reading it again to see if my perspective has changed. I read it in school over 20 years ago ?
