This is what I said about it: This story certainly tackles soooo many topics….which in turn evokes sooooo many emotions. Just touched me in so many ways. I recommend the audiobook, the narrator brings the story to life! My review is on Goodreads if you’d like to read it? http://www.goodreads.com/NicolaShort
I read it and I think it is worth reading. It is a good (not great) book. A good follow up is “Educated” by Tara Westover. There are so many similarities with striking differences. The two are a pair and offer a lot of good discussion points.
I truly loved this story and would read it again! There are just too many books to waste time rereading books but this is one of those rare literary masterpieces that left me in awe and transported me into the thick of the setting. It was so beautifully written and interesting!
The writing is lyrical. You can actually picture the scene in your mind. I loved this book. Parts of it require you to suspend belief and just go with the flow of the story. I saw an interview with the author Where she discussed loneliness in her own life and in her character’s life. It really helped deepen my appreciation for the story. And once again…the writing
After reading a million great reviews about the book I was super excited when I finally got it. It was good, but unfortunately the book I ready before it was EXACTLY the same. All you had to do was change the location and everything else was identical. Good book for me, not great.
I didn’t like it all that much. A lot of people seem to like it. Hope you do.
@Cathy I didn’t love it as much as everyone else does either.
@Stephanie I guess cause I read so much, I kinda saw the end coming.
@Cathy Same.
Loved it.

I am reading it now and enjoying it very much, although I usually read historical fiction. Yes, recommended!
Absolutely yes!
Definiteky not. Unless you’re looking for an author who mistreats their protagonist
@Brena how?
Yes. I found it good, not great. As with many books the author loses momentum & detail toward the end.
After reading a million great reviews about the book I was super excited when I finally got it. It was good, but unfortunately the book I ready before it was EXACTLY the same. All you had to do was change the location and everything else was identical. Good book for me, not great.
