In this strain I think you’d like DEFENDING JACOB one of the best books I’ve ever read

Loved Defending Jacob. Loved!!!

I’ve read them both. We Need To Talk About Kevin I thought was chilling in the best of ways, I’m a die hard Lionel
Shriver fan though.
I also really enjoyed She’s Come Undone. I would absolutely recommend both!!
Maybe also check out Big Brother by Lionel Shriver 🙂

I’m half way though We need to talk about Kevin, and while I’m enjoying it, I’m finding it hard to read. I’m not sure if it’s the subjective matter or writing style, but I want to finish it.

I found it very hard to read. I think it’s the writing style. Felt like giving up loads of times but so glad I persevered. What an ending. Keep going

I could not get into it because of the writing stlye. I finally gave up and put it away.

Yes both. As Marisa says upsetting but powerful…also well written. Right now I’m reading Mercy among the Children and I’m not finding much mercy! Pretty gloomy do far

i thought kevin was an extremely difficult book to read and it was one of the few books i’ve ever read that i wanted to throw away (i didn’t) after i read it because i didn’t want it in my house. along a similar vein, my book club read the good father by noah hawley. felt the same way about that one. i’m a big wally lamb fan and really liked she’s come undone

Both are really good books and very memorable. I have recommended She’s Come Undone to many. We Need to Talk About Kevin is one not everyone can handle emotionally, and it took me about 100 pages to really get into it.

We Need To Talk About Kevin was disturbing but I liked it. Defending Jacob was better, in my opinion.

One of my favorite books was She’s Come Undone. Wally Lamb is one of my favorite authors -and no, unfortunately, we are not related.

I just got We Need to Talk About Kevin. Have read She’s Come Undone…..love Wally Lamb! Also read Defending Jacob by Landry and The Good Father by Noah Hawley. I enjoyed reading them all.

They both stick with you. ‘We need to talk about Kevin’ is personal & tragic. It feels nonfiction. It’s a parent’s nightmare. Be prepared. ‘She’s Come Undone’ is also a personal read but has lighter plot & moments.

I’m reading The Widow by Fiona Barton. Kind of reminds me of Behind Closed Doors by B A Paris…this woman also married a wonderful man…who may have secrets.

Yep! I think I liked The Widow more than Behind Closed Doors, though I loved both. Check out The Vanishing Year by @Katie
