Yeah I was hoping it would be like the handmaids tale and it was in a way but I did not like it at all…I skimmed the last pages I just wanted it to be over
I liked it and didn’t like it at the same time. I didn’t like the ending and would have liked to have seen her explore the effects of the reduced language a bit more. She talked about her interest in this as a linguist in an interview but I thought she touched on it too briefly in the book. I have read some reviews of people recommending not reading it or saying they won’t read it because it is just a Christian bashing book. I didn’t see that. I thought the take away message was “use your voice while you can” or “silence is complicity”. All that said, it doesn’t hold a candle to The Handmaid’s Tale.

I did. I didn’t care for it. But read the entire thing. I really did not want to finish it but did.
It was interesting plot though.
Kassy MacPherson . Really? I’m getting that from a lot of people and it’s funny because I’m liking it ?♀️
I liked it from the start then stalled. I read more than half way then couldn’t pick it up anymore. Not sure why
@Kassy. I’m only on chapter 15 so I’ll see what happens
I did and I really enjoyed it! Much more action and more plot driven than the handmaids tale.
Yes I liked it a lot
