Has anyone read Three Dark Queens? I’m half way through and I’m finding it really slow atm. Does it get better?

I did and I didn’t feel like I wanted to read the others. At all.

I’ve read all the current releases and I did enjoy them but I felt like they were all missing a little oomph

@Grace I 100% agree. I thought there would be a lot more battles and fights.

Me too, they’re quite funny in a way because they rush through so much but drag by at the same time as well

I agree. One thing I did not like was how the characters were introduced and so many characters at the beginning

Yes! The list of who is who and where they belong is like 2 pages long, crazy when the books aren’t much more then 300 pages

I agree. I was so confused until chapter 4 for so. I really wish there was more blood shed considering that they are fighting for the crown. I found that all the hooks had a blahh moment in them

With any luck the fourth one will be significantly better as it’s the last one ??

The writing and politics involved in this book is really engaging. But I really really think that (*POTENTIAL SPOILER*) that thing with Mirabella and Joseph is very unnecessary and stupid.

@Vince I just read that part and it was silly! It takes away from the main plot

I know, @Olivia! I keep thinking how it affected the plot, but nothing comes up aside from additional tension (which, again, is unnecessary since they’re already trying to kill one another). Maybe it’s just to show how asshole of a boyfriend Joseph was idk

@Vince So true! If it was to show Joseph being a dick, there are much easier ways to portray this! It happened all of sudden which made no sense

It’s weird because the rest of the relationships are so dry and unsexy. I need a little more oomph in my books but I’ve read them all anyway.

@Olivia exactly. I would’ve liked it more if Joseph chose Mirabella, because I didn’t really root for Jules and Joseph’s relationship (I mean, come on, Joseph suddenly appears and it was implied that they already have this “thing” even before, and I’m supposed to care?) If he chose Mirabella, I would’ve seen it as strength of character, but then he started juggling Mirabella and Jules together and I’m like, “Umm, author? Wth?”

@Vince 100% agree with you! I liked the three Queens and their story. Too much of the books focus went on to this unnecessary love triangle

I just finished the 3rd book. The first one was extremely slow! I almost gave up on it! But it hooked me in at the end and I read the next 2 books quick! I’m waiting for my hold at the library for book 4 now!
