I understand, and did the same thing…. the movie is the same way… As a general rule, I never stop reading a book, and never turn off a movie, but I did with this one. And the subject matter is at the top of my list.
Yes! I was so excited to learn more about this subject & this story I had never heard but omg the ramblings this author goes into about the most ridiculous things.. I wanted to my slap myself lol
exactly… I tried skimming to get the good parts, but they were so far apart I had to put it down.
I was sad about it. I might go back to it one day bit Idk.. The overall story is snsxihg but how the author tells it is kinda torture
Loved the movie, didn’t read the book.
I might check out thr movie to learn a bit more @Tessa. Hopefully its more fast paced & leaves like 50% of the book out ?
I hate giving up too. Sometimes a book starts off really slow and ends up being really good. This has caused me to slog through some books I didn’t like, but it’s also been rewarding in some cases. I’ve not read The Zookeeper’s Wife so I can’t comment on this specific novel.
The English Wife started slow but was soooo good & well worth the read!
State of Wonder by Ann Patchett starts off a bit slow, but I liked that one a lot
I try to push through most books but i just can’t.. & i just pushed through this book The Boy Detective.. It took me 2 months & was a terrible awful.. I just can’t do another right now. I dont have the strength lol
life is short! eat the cake buy the shoes and put down the book
On my eternal list ..
I read the book and saw the movie which was great!
