There are a total of 5. But The Selection, The Elite, and The One are the original trilogy. The Heir happens after the first 3 and The Stories are just novellas. I’m not 100% sure but I think those might happen during the first 3. I haven’t read them yet.

I read the entire series, novellas and all. With the exception of one novella, I loved them all.

Which novella did you not like?

The Queen. The story of how Maxon’s mother won her selection.

It explains her relationship with the king and all that. Just… ugh. No.

Other than that, the series was stellar. Even the daughters books. My favourite was The Elite

Is the daughters book completed or will there be more?

It’s complete. Theres 5 novels – 3 of America/Maxon, 2 for the daughter. 5 novellas. You can find the 5 novellas individually (I did with my library. They didn’t have the collection) or in the collection Happily Ever After.

Am I the only one who thought they didn’t live up to the hype? I read the 5 books recently and only finished the series because I’d started. I honestly got pretty bored, and felt like there wasn’t very much character development. Some of it also seemed quite cheesy. I also thought she wrote them in a way that was almost childish. Basically I just didn’t enjoy the series?
