Now I am going to show my age. I watched the original series back in the 70’s and loved it. So I found the whole book series, all twelve of them and read them back to back to back. I loved those books. I think you should try them.

Me too!! Love them. The characters are like old friends. Now I want to go to Cornwall. It looks amazing.

I read the first four in the 60s as a teenager, before the original BBC series was produced. Those were actually written in the 40s and 50s. I LOVED them then. I think I read the ones published in the 70s, but not so memorable. The later ones I have not read, but maybe I should.

Yes, I’ve read them all – there is a lag in a couple of the middle novels, but it’s worth it to keep going. Although like in real life you miss the characters that pass away. And I wish Graham had continued with some of the side stories.

You can usually watch the most recent episodes on the PBS app and it’s completely free.
