My boyfriend just bought me seasons 1-3 on dvd. I have only watched season 1 so far. I assume they did it similar?

1
Jennifer

@Shelly I find season 1 to be very close to the book, then season 2 u will see more differences, u know how on book 2 she Claire meets Johnathan Randall at Sandringhams House? Well that’s not how she meets him in the series, and you will see many other re-writings

I know its hard for them to get everything exactly to the book seeing as how the books are so big. I hope they don’t take too many liberties.

Jennifer

@Shelly I think the changes they are making don’t exactly change the essence of the story

I finished book 2 last night. I was so sad to know that they spent 20 years apart her not knowing he was alive.

Also i had a hard time with the fact that he showed any compassion to Jack Randall when Alex died.

I’m waiting for book 9. I love all the books in the series. I’m currently reading the side series that centers around one Lord John Gray.

Is it just as good?

Candice

Yes I’ve been wonder about that, how do you like them?

0
Janis

I like them, but not as well as I liked the main series.

1
Ang

I didn’t expect to like them as much but many are very good. They are all good. The Outlander series is perfection, though.

I have a friend who doesn’t want to read past book 1 because she is afraid it will ruin her opinion of the characters.

Ugg I hate that lol. Books are always better.

Crystal

And he hates Claire, so I’m always telling him the reason is because he doesn’t understand her enough and that it’s because there’s more to her in the books.

1
Ang

@Shelly, the characters remain pretty consistent, in my opinion.

Yes! I read the first three super fast but I’ve kind of been slow to finish the fourth. Those books are not exactly short so I think I just needed a break ? anybody else? I’m 30% through, tell me it gets better?!

I completely understand. They are huge!

They are huge! I flew through the first 4, but had to take a break after starting book 5 due to burn out and other books. 5 is slow to start with, but I’ve been told that once you get past a certain point it speeds up.

I took my time. I savored them. I always read more than one book at a time though. I also enjoyed listening to Davina Porter read the books, on Audible. Sometimes, I would read along. I have read all of both stores and have all of Outlander in eBook and Audible formats.

I didn’t think I would love them as much as I did. I have eBook and Audible copies of all of Outlander now. Davina Porter’s voice is divine. I hope you’ll read them.

I did read the book 1. As for the book 2, I drop it after 5 or 6 chapters.
