I agree with Erin. It’s one of those books that you hate ti describe as having entertainment value. It’s more like The Road….a tribute to the indomitable love of parents and of life, even in the bleakest of circumstances.
I read it when it first came out and then forgot about it…until the film. And the book,as always I find, beats the film hands down. But I won’t re read it as it’s not that sort of book for me.

I didn’t like the book at all. A much better book, IMHO, and kind of the same premise, is Baby Doll by Hollie Overton. Really loved that one!!
