I read it as a teen. As an English teacher, I read it with my students many times. They all appreciated this book. There are 3 or more movie versions. Once, my students watched it as a tv mini-series. We had great discussions of the book and the movie.

I have–need to re-read it, too. It’s a book that causes you to really understand humanity from the inside out, and I think that’s not too common. Also, it’s short enough to be read in an afternoon.

June

Me too, read it once. It didn’t impact me much, guess I will have to re-read it too ?.

All of Steinbeck’s works are must reads. One I think should be required reading in school is ‘Winter of our Discontent’. Shows the corruption of a good man in a way we see again and again in society. Have read that book several times.
