Has anyone read the art of racing in the rain? If so what are your thoughts? I recently got it at a thrift store but haven’t started it yet.

Loved it. I took forever to read it, don’t care for car racing, that seemed to be the only thing I noticed in the description.? So glad I read it. Wonderful book.

❤️❤️❤️ it’s a great book but a tear jerker! I read it when I only had cats. Now that I have a dog it would probably break my heart.

Didn’t like it at all. I was cool with the dog characterization but the humans were dopes who made life choices no one in their right mind would make. That’s just me. A zillion people loved it. You might too. ?

Enjoyed it very much! Sadness, but a lot of humor as well. Greatly enjoyed by most of our book group years ago.

Yes. Was not a fan whatsoever, not sure how so many people like this book it is just depressing! Different strokes different folks I guess

@Bonnie yeah I just remember reading it and being wholly unimpressed. I’m okay if a book is sad if it is well written, but I feel like this was a book with just misfortune after misfortune with no real moral to the story

Also I like that you were honest and cited things in your review, good job

Wonderful book, one of my favorites, a book that stays with you, you don’t read this for the literary content, but I became a fan of this book regardless.

I was so excited to read this – a book told from a dog’s point of view? Brilliant! But to me, the author failed to take advantage of this unique perspective and just wrote a marginal family drama. He failed to really make it unique and special like it could have been. Was not impressed at all. Sorry!
