The entire series is pretty decent. Not Sanderson level but still pretty good
I saw it at Half Price Books and considered it, but I didn’t pick it up. But I do want to read the series, it sounded interesting.
On the third book now. Really like the series.
Malice is a bit of a slow burn, but ends with a bang and develops into a really great series. It’s a bit more traditional (kid with destiny, mentors who aren’t what they seem, etc.), so if you don’t like that sort of thing it might be a bit difficult to get into. If you *do* like it, it’s a great series and one I’d strongly recommend.

I completely disagree with these reviews. It’s VERY easy to get into, it’s absolutely on “Sanderson” level, and you should absolutely read it.

“Easy to get into” can mean different things to different people. As compared to Sanderson, they’re very, very different authors who write very, very different kinds of books — my opinions, of course.
