I started it but gave up after Ch3. I gather it is a project some authors are involved in; taking the classics and giving them a 21st century revamp. But for me an otherwise excellent author in Jo has not helped himself with this one. Classics are called such for a reason and should be left alone
The stipulation that it must adhere to the basic structure of the original Shakespeare book makes for kind of ham stringing Jo Nesbo for plot, but he handles it very creatively. To be sure it is NOT a Harry Hole type novel but it is worth reading nonetheless.
Started it, but I couldn’t get into it. I’m a massive Jo Nesbø fan so I’ll give it another go. Perhaps it’s a slow burner.

@Charlotte true, I tried to read it and somehow I give up…and I always love Jo Nesbo, I think Machbet is a disappointment
I loved it… the characters were great and the atmosphere was awesome.

I too am a big Nesbo fan but I found this a bit too bleak. I also have no sympathy for Macbeth so it was hard to like any characters

@Frances, yep… it was definitely different but it was definitely Nesbo… loved every sentence.

Have enjoyed all of the jo nesbo books apart from this one . I did finish it but was hugely disappointed.
I am a great no nesbo fan this is very very different but I enjoyed it. I agree that it’s very difficult to like the characters
