I finished Sharp Objects, and when I finished picked up Gone Girl, I’m really noticing a huge difference in eloquent words and phrases, in Gone Girl, compared to Sharp Objects.

Me too. I am not a big fan of thrillers but this one was different and very good.

I’m sorry to be the unpopular opinion- but I hated it… Loved Sharper Things by her, though…

Sharp objects

I think (most) everyone has! Lol! I’d say it’s a “classic”! I’m super into psychological thrillers, and many books in that genre get compared to Gone Girl! Definitely read it! ?

Around 1991, or 1995 or somewhere around there I read A Deal with the Devil, but all of a sudden I’m talked into reading Sharp Objects, liked it so yesterday I ran in and picked up Gone Girl.

Did you get all the way through

0
Nicole

@Millers I did. I’ve read three of her books and haven’t truly enjoyed any of them. But I don’t do well with rambly over detailed writing and that’s kinda the way I feel Gillian Flynn is.

0
Nicole

I will say it was readable but I didn’t love it.

I’m going to keep reading it, if in the end I don’t love it, well I at least can say I read it on feedback from a great bunch.

It’s a book of 2 halves. The first is excellent. The second is drivel. It was like she gave it to a friend to finish up because she couldn’t be bothered. On my opinion anyway.
