I have it. I’ve tried reading it a few times, got about halfway through. I found it beautiful, difficult, adoring, and maddening. So I named my Doberman after it.

Yes in Italian La Divina Commedia, we had a special course of Italian literature when I studied Italian Language.

In multiple English translations. I’ve played around with the Italian original and am slowly now trying to go through the whole thing in Italian.

Yes it’s beautiful and so imaginative it takes a while to get used to the poetic form but once you are there it’s fabulous

I read it, but I was an English major in college. It’s definitely not light reading, but fun when you get the hang of it.

I Studied it at high school. 2nd year L’Inferno, 3rd year Il Purgatorio, 4th year Il Paradiso.

Yes, I read The Divine Comedy in College. It was a part of graduate class seminar.
It’s murky, and dark. It’s a little easier read if you get modern transaction like Mandelbaum

Yes. It’s very political. If you can digest the politics and comprehend the history, it’s a good one. It was slow going for me because I am not very savvy on the political/historical stuff of that time.
