Never read it but it’s on the high school reading lists. I would imagine it’s good to many.

Madness! But in a magnificent way… try Absalom, Absalom for more insanity 😀

Tried and gave up ?.
Too difficult for me the original version, and the italian traslation I came across sounded cumbersome to me.

I’m about 3 chapters in and i’m losing interest. But I will keep going just so I can watch the James Franco movie after ?

While reading any Faulkner book I feel retarded. I understand half of the facts and then I need to re read it.

Loved it. It’s a little twisted. Beverly Hillbillies set in a hard time. In the line of The Winter Of Our Discontent.

A little dark. But amusingly good.

Great book, but not Faulkner’s best in my opinion. If you want to start with something a little more “reader friendly” for Faulkner, I would suggest _Intruders in the Dust_. _As I Lay Dying_ is a novel that I think should be read…once…kinda like Joyce’s _Ulysses_. Just my humble opinion.

Depressing read….

It kind of reads like a Faulkner-y Stephen King/Cormac McCarthy novel! Very depressing, dark, a little quiet, a little horrifyingly gross. It’s my favorite of his novels.
