@Lindsay I thought it was boring. So slow moving. Too much time jumping. Dragged on and on. Too much description. And after a 2 month struggle the ending was so disappointing.
I read The Nightingale right before it, which has now become my favorite book. It has some very slow parts and drags on in places. Maybe if I hadn’t read The Nightingale right before it I might have liked it more.
Oh geez…. I have The Nightingale also…. Where to begin on my TBR pile?? The Nightingale, All the Light we Cannot See, The Code Girls, Red Sparrow, The English Patient….
Anthony Doerr’s use of setting and language thruout “All the Light We Cannot See” fuses the reader’s sympathy with the two main characters. The author’s gift to us is nothing short of brilliant. I do hope you will read the book.
I liked it. It is a slow read but good. It’s pretty crazy how self sufficient she was as a blind teen.
My husband and I loved it.
Yes, and loved it.
Yes, it was excellent. And for those who want short chapters, some are as short as a page, which allows for easy stops.
