I did not like it overall. There were a couple story lines that were good but the characters were very frustrating!

I listened to this one. The reader was good and I was driving so continuing was easy. Sometimes books that drag when you are reading them come across differently when you listen.

I read it awhile ago and have to admit that I can’t recall it right now, although I love Anne Tyler.

Couldn’t get past the first couple of chapters, hated the characters almost instantly- really wanted to like it because that COVER? lol

I thought it was worth the time — you need to like family saga type stories — also loved the ‘attitude’ toward social workers.

Didn’t care for it myself. A bit too rambling for me

Yes. I’m a Tyler fan. I’ve read everything. I have a few authors that I’ll always read and I throughly enjoy the writing, and just like any friend I don’t expect perfection.

It is a great family story, like everything she’s ever written. It gets increasingly better. One of the best books I read last year.

It isn’t my favorite of hers, but I thought it was a good book. I’ve been reading her books since the 70’s & we’ve aged together & now she’s dealing with death & how it affects a family.

I read it in 2015 and really liked it. I haven’t read any of Tyler’s other books so I can’t comment on how it compares. However, I found it to be a really interesting exploration of family and time. I wrote a review back then if you’re interested https://www.fuelledbyfiction.com/2015/02/a-spool-of-blue-thread-by-anne-tyler.html
