Yes, and I was expecting the 2nd The Hating Game, which I absolutely loved. It wasn’t even close for me. Sorry. I did see a similar post a few weeks ago though, and some of its comments were straight up positive, so if you’re curious about the book, you should totally get it. And I hope you enjoy it 🙂
I felt the same, I was pretty underwhelmed with 99%. I loved the hating game.
It wasn’t a bad read, but it wasn’t on par with The Hating Game either. I got it from the library and was kind of glad I didn’t pay for it. I borrowed The Hating Game from the library too but put it on my “to buy” list after reading it. It’s probably good enough to pay $2 for it, just not full price, if that makes sense.

I’m half way through. It’s an easy read, but not as good as The Hating Game.
