A bit hard going to be honest. I will admit to being no intellectual! However there were some chapters that were very interesting.

Atheist in the house. Never read up any books on atheism as I’m pretty solid in my beliefs. Ironically I enjoy reading books on the history of religion, kind of like from a mythological point of view.

Unlike most of the books on atheism who take on the topic from philosophical point of view this one is takes on the subject with the scientific method. You might love it.

Would you mind clarifying? I don’t mean to dispute your reasons here, it’s just I’m not aware of what he’s said or done that might be of an antifeminist bent. Not to say it hasn’t happened, just that I must have missed it and this seems like as good an opportunity as any to make myself more aware 🙂

Not at all. You can read up on some of the controversies on his Wikipedia page https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_views_of_Richard_Dawkins#Feminism_and_women's_rights

I really don’t like his boorish behaviour, especially not victim blaming. The atheist and skeptic community has problematic culture generally when it comes to women and i can give a number of examples

I’m an atheist but haven’t read it. It is on my list

I read it when it was first published. It still sits on my bookshelf. Maybe it’s time to reread it.
