Has anyone here read Dumplin? I just read it yesterday and have something to say about it. To avoid spoilers, my thought will be the first comment.

**SPOILER**

I can’t be the only one who was disappointed to not find out who won the pageant! Also I really didn’t like Bo and was rooting for Mitch the entire time. It also didn’t feel like it had much of an ending to me. Anyone else feel this way?

I have only watched the movie and the winner of the pageant was disclosed in it ?

@Claudia maybe I just felt like it didn’t have an ending because all she did was walk into Harpy’s to Bo, who I didn’t care for. ??‍♀️

@Pauliina I saw the movie trailer and it looked great! So I decided to get my hands on a copy of the book to read quick before watching it. Overall did you enjoy the movie?

I didn’t care for Bo at all and liked Mitch more but I understand how she feels, someone can be good to you and you can genuinely like him but don’t feel any chemistry or want to continue the relationship

@Stephanie I really liked the movie! I was meaning to read the book first but I didn’t find time :/ Now I really want to read Puddin though! I loved Millie!

Who was Mitch? I don’t recall seeing a Mitch in the movie

@Melissa they didn’t do the Mitch storyline in the movie

@Petra I totally got that too but I really feel like she would have been better off alone than with Bo.

@Melissa In the book Bo is the guy she wants to be with but it doesn’t really work out at first. Mitch is a football player that is beyond sweet to her but she’s stuck on Bo and kind of leads Mitch on for a bit. Kind of like a love triangle but Mitch is SO much better than Bo! I’m disappointed they left him out of the movie.

If you read Puddin’ you get more of the storyline with what happens to Mitch and other characters from Dumplin’. I liked that she ended up with Bo. I’ve definitely been there where the person was probably perfect for me, but I felt absolutely no spark.

@Rosina in the book Millie comes in second. I kind of get the feeling they have her come in first place in the movie but I could be wrong.

@Stephanie ..I was hoping that she did but was not the case

Tracy

@Stephanie she’s the first runner up in the movie (so technically she’s still second) Becca wins in the movie but it’s told in the background as Willow runs off to Bo.

I really enjoyed the book. Didn’t make it through the movie though lol. The second book Puddin’ is kind of all over the place emotion wise but it’s good.

@Kimm I have Puddin to read next. Does it kind of pick up where Dumplin left off?

0
Kimm

Yes but no. It’s from different characters perspectives. So you don’t find out much about Will.

Okay that makes more sense then. We have Puddin’ as well so that is my next book to read. After watching the film.
