Yes, I wrote to the author asking why their book series was not made into a movie? Too many remakes out there and so many fantastic books to draw from. He was flattered

I am an Danish author, and every other colleague that I know LOVES to get mails from the readers. So just keep on writing to them. 🙂
But okay, maybe if you are Stephen King or similar they maybe haven’t got so much time as we other not-well-known authors. 😉

Yes I wrote to Harlan Coben years ago to ask why I couldn’t get his first two books & he wrote straight back explaining why . I’ve also had interesting conversations with James Oswald & Denzil Meyrick whose books I love.

Yeah I ended up being Facebook friends and learning nore about the story. Book was mummy come home by Oxana Kalemi. It was a hard book to read it made me raw and emotional. But it changed something in me.

Wow, lots of responses to my question. Thank you all. I, too, have received responses from about 3/4 of the authors to whom I have written. They are always greatly appreciative and Erik Larson asked me to look into his other books, which I did and read.

I receive lots of lovely emails from my readers and they always lift my day. We writers usually work in a vacuum and then send our ‘babies’ out into the world. It’s always lovely to hear from someone that they’re doing well.

I wrote to Susan Hill about her books ‘ Springtime of the Year’ and ‘Family,’ after my baby died. .. Both books were about grief and loss, the first was fiction, the second about the loss of her baby. She wrote back and included her phone number, so I rang her and she gave me some advice and support on coping with the grief after losing a child. Shes a l lovely lady.
