I used to read them all the time as a kid. I would love for adult versions. Granted I would spend too much time getting every result.

Yes! They were my favorites when I was young. I had Nancy Drew one and I mapped out all of the possible story combinations

This reminds me of the movie Big! Remember he designed an interactive electronic comic book in his adult job as a toy inventor?

What are choose your own adventure books? I’ve never heard of them.

I read them when I was a kid. You read a few chapters and then it gives you a choice. If you pick option A you turn to page xx and start reading or option B you turn to page xx. It does that throughout the book. So you might get a different ending than someone else who read the same book

I loved them when I was growing up in the late 80’s. I just read a great one for the popsugar reading challenge.

My mum found a few of my CYO Adventure books in her loft and now my daughter loves reading them. I’ll take a photo of them later on as I’m sure a few of you will recognise the covers ?

There are several of these types of books I have- CYOA, Endless Quest (D&D style), Fighting Fantasy (a gaming book series), Twist-A-Plot, etc.

Interesting note: before writing the Goosebumps kids series, R.L. Stine wrote a Twist-A-Plot book, “Golden Sword of Dragonwalk”.

I had one when I was a kid and it was about sailing/getting lost at sea. It was from the 60s I think.

Check out Romeo and/or Juliet – It’s a choose your own path book by Ryan North based on the play! It’s ridiculously fun, there’s also one of Hamlet too ^_^

Wow, this is a blast from the past! I remember reading them 30 years ago as a kid. This is the second blast from the past in 2 days as I was at BAM books Saturday buying some old childhood favorites for my wife to enjoy for the first time when I stumbled on their huge collection of Nancy Drew books!

Not only read them, but after choosing one adventure, I’d go back and choose the other answers to see where they led. Maybe everyone did this. I don’t know.

I read them all the time growing up, can’t believe they were released again. (Ever pick on up note the original copyright date) I was sad tho, cuz I always made choices which made the book end too quickly. Hehe
