I read it after watching the movie, because I wanted to know more. The book was so good, it’s among the very top of my list of all-time favorite reads. Not a lighthearted read, by any means. My niece accused me of making her cry when I gave her a copy, but it also got her to start reading historical fiction, so the crying is a plus!

One of the best books our book club read last year, beautifully written yet also haunting. You will think of it for quite some time afterwards, we all did.
