I’ve read the first four. They’re well worth reading, although the quality does go down a little as the series goes on.

thank you, how many book the serial has?

I believe there are six actually written by the original author. There are others beyond that, but not written by Frank Herbert. The new author may be his son.

Many years ago I read them all. There are six in total of the original series, although many spin offs.
I recently read the first one again & enjoyed it just as much.

No but I own a copy of the first book, and I have reason to believe that its better than the movie version

Read the original series, the two prequel series and the two individual boys that were added to end the original series. Good reads. But there is a difference between Frank’s writing compared to that of his son Brian and Kevin J Anderson.

I remember loving them but it’s been over 15 years since I read them.

The first one is pretty rad but they decline after that.

Oh yes – based on thousands of pages of notes left by Frank Herbert, his son and another writer finished off the saga, filled in some stuff and wrote some prequels. Wasn’t overly thrilled with the schools trilogy and there are some inconsistencies here and there but then they are covering 15 thousand years of the Dune universe from start to finish.

First four plus some of the other ones by his son and Kevin Anderson. Love the first three – God Emperor of Dune was a little tough going, and the others…well, let’s just say the ones I’ve read are nowhere near the same standard, IMO.
