Bob Russell, did you realise before you started reading it that there was a part 2? ? I didn’t, that was a surprise! I have just finished the second book (The Turn of Midnight) and looks like there will be a Part 3!

@Sandra No, I did not! I just ordered the second part.

If you like mysteries then the Cadfael books by Ellis Peters are amazing! Also check out The Name Of The Rose by Umberto Eco!!

This might fall slightly outside your timeframe (but what’s 100 years in the course of 1,000? ?) but Year of Wonders by Geraldine Brooks was really good. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/4965

Fiction only? I just finished Ruth Goodman’s “How to Behave Badly in Elizabethean England” which was a guide to vice and offense in the 15 to 1600s. It was pretty amusing lol

I just started “Katherine” by Anya Seton a couple of nights ago and thought of your post. It’s about Katherine Swynford and John of Gaunt. I’m not very far into it, but so far it’s good, and the author does a good job of putting you back into the era.

@Kathy I love Katherine! After I read it, I got all Anya Seton’s books and loved them too!
