Because it allows me to see the world through someone else’s perspective. This is one way empathy is taught.

I read to fire my imagination. To make new friends and go on great adventures. I read to learn.
AND, yes, I read to escape. No other activity can completely remove you from your reality and deposit you safely back into it when needed, then stand ready to whisk you away again.

Reading is knowledge, knowledge is power. I love having an advantage over others.Even a small one. I love reading many different writers, from very different genres. Always will. I love happy stories, I love sad ones too. Different races, and different cultures.

I would say, I don’t wanna talk to people around me. Yep, it not a cliche answer, but that will be one. Everybody know whats and whys. But if they genuinely wanna know why, I let them know the reason is I don’t want my brain getting sluggish. Still they don’t get it. Or am I underestimating people?

If you have to ask, then I could never explain it to you. Reading is intrinsic to who I am. Reading is more than words, pages and stories. It is a common language between people who live in different times, places, cultures and worlds. Reading is an entire universe in your hands.

I love to read because of many things. To narrow it down, first is because I can be transported to different worlds and dimensions I know I can’t possibly be. Second, I can meet diverse people having different outlooks in life and learn from their experiences. Third is that, I can escape from this f*cked up, boring life I have. And the list of reasons just goes on…

I read to exercise my mind. To explore my imagination, and to let it unfurl in a way only reading can do. To keep me sane. To learn about everything. To escape into worlds unknown and to visit places I’ve yet to see. To explore my emotions. To see the best of people and the worst of people.
I read to make me happy ?
