I don’t mind spending whatever it is for a book that I really enjoy. However I have Kindle Unlimited and it has so many books that I have stopped buying them ?
I think it depends. Are you reading Ebooks to save money, or to save space and not buy anymore books? Traditionally published books are often the same price as a paper book, unless you wait for sales
It depends on if it’s an author i have read before. I don’t like paying more than I do for the paperback book though. I have a limited amount of money to spend and I have to stretch it to be able to buy as many books as I can
I use my ereader in addition to hard copies, so I generally won’t pay more than $2.99 for an ebook. If I’m going to pay more than that, I’d rather spend it on the hard copy.
I never spend more than $5.00. I have the Nook, and B&N has thousands of free book and the spotlight many at $2.99 or less each week. So, I never pay full price.
I told myself. No more books! Me: browses through B&N app store. I found 5 e-books, for $2.99, by my favorite authors. A is for Alibi, by Sue Grafton Fortunes Rocks, by Anita Shreve Five People You Meet in Heaven, by Mitch Albom Have a Little Faith, by Mitch Albom At The Waters Edge, by Sara Gruen
If I really want it and can’t wait, I’ll pay up to £6.00 but I like to wait if possible for the price to go below £5.00. And I do buy cheaper good copy used paperbacks for books that aren’t available as ebooks.
Depends on the book/content. I’ve gotten enhanced versions of books (animated images, books with facts from author etc like Harry Potter or GOT) on iBooks for $12, complete sets for $20 etc. Some new releases are 10-15. Just depends on content, book, author etc.
I can accept up to 20-25 USD if I really want a book, but even if I want Seven Stones to Stand or Fall verra badly, I’m certainly NOT going to pay 35,24 USD for it!!! Danish books are often 49 USD when new, but they usually are offered cheaper after a while. Actually, thanks to this post, I just discovered that I can get Seven Stones at 16,37 via a Danish seller 🙂 WEEEEEE
Amazon Prime gives you a free choice every month and Kindle Unlimited gives you as many as 10, at a time, for $10 a month. Loads of online libraries, too. The best one I have found is the Free Library of Philadelphia! I very rarely outright “buy” a book but, if I do, it’s usually well less than $10.
I will buy a physical copy or check out from the library if the book is more than $3.99. Some ebooks are equal to or more expensive than buying a physical copy which is absurd.
I’ve paid up to 10 but not often and I pay 10 a month for kindle unlimited to read as many books as I want in the month so it ends up being okay cause I’m never without new books 🙂
Not including school books, I don’t think I’ve spend more than five dollars on an e-book in two years or more. Any more than that and I can find a used book plus shipping and handling online or go to the library. Using this method, my e-readers have all ‘paid’ for themselves. =D If I’m going to pay full price for a book, I want the physical book rather than something that’s limited by battery life and the life of the e-reader (I wore out my First Gen Nook.)

This is me I pay for it and rarely buy new books unless it’s a series I am collecting on my e reader.
I have paid as much as 30.00 for an ebook but for that to happen it is usually a set of books just put into one volume. Like Game of Thrones series.
Around €5 is my limit.
I don’t see why they are dearer than hard copies, given that printing costs and transportation costs are zero.
10-15 but the 15 range is only maybe once or twice and that’s for a popular new release
I start to bawk at over $10-$12.
I think it depends. Are you reading Ebooks to save money, or to save space and not buy anymore books? Traditionally published books are often the same price as a paper book, unless you wait for sales
I never buy ebooks over $5

Since ebooks are the only way I can read I don’t mind paying more but I refuse to pay a fortune for them.

I think I need an intervention.?
I usually only buy them on sale $2.99 or less.
10 pound the odd time but normally below 5 ?

2.99
Depends on the book but I’ve become so spoiled by the cheap/free ones that I hate spending even $5 ?
Over $10 for me. I subscribe to emails from Goodreads and BookBub so I get notified of ebook deals. I typically spend like $2.99 on my ebooks. 🙂
I’ve never gone over $5, but most of mine were either free (98%) or .99.
5 bucks is my limit.
$25 is the most ive ever spent on a book. Ebook or physical
Ebooks purchased on Amazon site can be returned within 7 days and amount will be recredited.
It depends on the book. I just spent $30 on a book, but it was really an entire series and a bonus book, so…
Below $5. But will pay for $12 – $15 if one of my favorite authors or book series
Anything over $5. There are rare exceptions to that though.
Eh. I’ve spent up to $100ish, but on textbooks.
Too much, I suppose, would be more than a new physical copy of the book. Other than that, things cost what they cost.
It really depends on the book, I have spent over $10 but not over $15, yet.
I don’t have a hard and fast limit. If I can buy a hard copy for less than the ebook, I’ll always go for the hard copy.

$8 – $10 , but then it’s usually a very popular author and the book is very popular / in a popular series.
My budget is $5 max.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha unlimited!!!!!!
I only use my kindle fire to read fanfiction and play some games on it I’ve only downloaded free ebooks on it though
I use it for fan fiction a lot too
Ok

I agree.

On a kobo or a kindle,$ 33.00.
None of I use Overdrive
I spend $20 once and didn’t even like the book.
I don’t like to spend more the $10 on a book, which isn’t hard to stay under that.
It depends on the book for me
Like if I really really want to read it, I’ll spend a little more.

Usually no more than 99 cents, but I did spend $4.99 to complete a hard to find series.
Oops! I answered how much I spend, not how much is too much. I think I already spent too much!
