It’s true but only if they are not new. I never find the books for @Our anywhere but online. I live in New Zealand.

@Nanda here in the uk we can sometimes find new books but I guess it does depend on where you live. Otherwise I get mine from supermarkets and amazon

I buy them on my Nook and also where I work (Walmart). Sometimes I trek up to Barnes and Noble.

I borrow from the library if it’s available. Sometimes it’s a book I have and sometimes I buy it. We try not to do just published books so we don’t have to buy hardcover books.

Library. They have a list of books they hold multiple copies of. We go through the list and each person chooses one each month for the year. The library staff get them in and available for us. Usually 2 months date stamp so plenty of time.
And best of all It’s a free service!
Use your libraries or lose them.

I prefer audio books so I can do other things while I listen. A membership to Otto Radio is $9.99 a month unlimited and includes best sellers and new releases. It has saved me hundreds because I was spending at least $100 a month on ebooks.

The library! When they choose a book to read, the library holds a bunch of them for whoever signs up. I can choose ebooks or physical copies usually.

Our library has book club kits. A bag with 12 of the same books in it. To borrow them you need to register your bookclub, all the memers need to be members of the libarary and supply their card number. Then your bookclub gets its own libary card, held by the registered bookclub coordinator. This works well as membership is free. Its a wonderful service. B U T the are now more book clubs than bookclub kits and we’ve already read most of the books in the kits. So pickings are getting quite slim. Not to mention the coordinator has to pick up and return the kits, which can only be returned if all 12 books are in the kit, so the coordinator has to chase people who didn’t get to the monthly meeting. I think an ebook bookclub kit would be wonderful (no pickup, returns or chasing slow to return books) but try as i might I can’t seems to find a service like that. Anyone know of one?

CAE (Centre for adult education) Flinders Lane Melbourne. They have hundreds of books to choose from and up to twelve copies of each. Your book club will need to be registered with them and cost is approximately $170 per annum. Yes more than the libraries charge however the range is well worth it.

Amazon or Half Price Books. I also sell some back to Half Price Books. And sometimes Amazon is cheaper than HPB! And I love the way Amazon is set up to help you find books YOU like. For example, if you bought a certain book, they’ll suggest similar books you might like. Very helpful!
