I like something light for that kind of reading. The Stephanie Plum ( Janet Evanovich) books or the Hanna Swenson mysteries (Joanne Fluke) would be my recommendation.

Sorry I should have read the comments! I think the paper whites are best. My Nook is great for shade, but I have to turn the brightness way up in the sun and it really sucks up the battery.

Anne Rice’s vampire books, or Harry Potter, they both keep your attention and aren’t overly serious. ?
