Intense? I found it rather nauseating

Whatever you read, Brianna, remember it doesn’t show the real meaning or passion of love. It’s a lot of bollocks.

I couldn’t get past the first 50 pages! I just found it slow and lacking a storyline. The sex and things don’t bother me (my hubby and sons say I read biker porn, lol) the story just has to be exciting

I don’t understand why everyone loves it so much. It was just horrible. I didn’t make it past the 2nd chapter.

Stefanie Schweigler thanks for the review so I know for sure not to ever finish the book. I feel disgusted just reading the details in your review. Bleh

I read them all. Weird bdsm ( how someone would think it is,not actually how it is, I think) love story. I don’t remember any kind of plot lol.

I wouldn’t read it if I were you. I actually hated it.

I actually liked the books, are they literary classics, no. Does some of her writing drive me crazy, yes. However, when I look past that to a story of 2 people, one broken and the other with no belief in herself its wonderful how they make each other better.

exactly…its a story…some ppl were too harsh on their reviews i guess lmao

Katy

Exactly this.

I liked the books. Don’t care for the movies though. I wasn’t looking for true to form bdsm books, which is why some don’t like them, but I liked the story. I read all three of them and the fourth book called Gray. I liked them all. I agree with Christine!

How was Gray? I keep seeing it at half price books but I keep not buying it. lol

1
Angie

I liked it the least of all. I could’ve just read the first three and been fine with that.

I read this and told my husband that “hey, we could have written this, only better” lol. Poorly written, and absolute trash.

I haven’t read them but my cousin has, she says the ones written from Christian’s perspective are better.

The play and sex got old after the first session. I would just skip over those parts. Didn’t take me long to read. Lol

Yea it is very repetitive

Well I hated the book…it was really boring. I quit after 40 pages. I was told I am prude…but I like to read about Ted Bundy. So…lol

Lol @ Ted Bundy
He is far better than Christian Grey

Chandra

Pfft. Child’s play. You want intense? Read Anne Rice’s Sleeping Beauty set. Now THAT is some high quality erotica! ?

Alexandra

I couldn’t finish it. The second book was way too much. I couldn’t get into all that humiliation.

0
Chandra

It just depends on there type of erotica you like. I prefer the darker more detailed stuff over this froofy, poorly written crap. And Anne Rice kept it based off the original.

0
Alexandra

@Chandra I love Anne Rice and it’s well written, but I couldn’t get into the humiliation part of the second book. It was too much. Fifty shades is horrendously written.

0
Sharmeen

No harm reading it. But I dont like this story. Both the lead characters look spineless.

Intense?
I never found it to be intense.

Kim Rocha’s BDSM work is intense.

This depicts a poor representation of the BDSM community and how relationships actually are.

It’s poorly written and cringeworthy to hear a young 20 year old character with such terrible inner monologue and the characters are too flat and just cheaply created. I don’t know who edited the books but they need a smack across the back of the head.

I had to force myself through it because I don’t like criticising something I haven’t read.

There is so much better out there, I found the writing repetitive, and if how many times did she bite her….almost on every page. You like FSG try Silvia Day or Shayla Black

No shame reading what you enjoy. I just can’t. The writing is horrendous and Christian is an ass. But if you like it, cool!

@Brianna I loved the books. There are a TON of harsh critics but who cares? Read them and if you love them no need to be ashamed! No they aren’t the best book ever written but they are not the worst either contrary to some opinions. Read what you like no matter what it is!

Amara

Bad grammar, terrible plot. Some of the worst work out there.

Alexandra

It had potential but it was very poorly written twilight fanfic. But if it gets people willing to explore new things in the bedroom (after doing proper research on the subject) and it gets people reading and leads them to other things, cool. Poorly written fanfic is better than not reading.

2
Amara

I agree.

E.L. James raunchy romp is a good example for all those who self publish and the success it can bring. I read somewhere that she published the book using Amazon’s createspace platform and sold 250,000 copies before being picked by a publishing house. The rest is history.

I loved them for the shear fact that this author, tho not the best style writing, opened the door right up for erotica. No longer being treated like that creepy uncle we don’t talk about. It helped woman to come out and say YUP I love this stuff and YUP I read it! Proud and no longer hidden away as a dirty secret!

Well I’m a single woman who’s too sick to get laid so I stay away from that genre. Back in the day though.
