??? The Shining. Carrie. Blaze. Salem’s Lot…and a couple of others… I can’t decide lol I haven’t read them all yet but for now maybe have to go with “The Shining.”
@Bailey I’ve recently started reading king books. I have a monster collection and working my way through them. Insomnia was just so thought provoking! I loved every minute. I’m reading rose madder at the moment.
I can never choose my favorites, but if I did it would probably be The Shining followed by Doctor Sleep, the Mr Mercedes trilogy followed by The Outsider, and The Green Mile. I usually just recommend starting at the beginning because there are so many great books.
The Stand is excellent but the sheer volume of it can be intimidating. Aside from the Passage trilogy, The Stand was one of the longest relationships I ever had with a book.
Eyes of the Dragon. My mom made all of us kids read it once we got to middle school. This book, though not my favorite, fueled my love of reading. Thanks Mom!
I’m reading apt pupil better than I thought it would be It or Christine are my favourite. I read first dark tower didn’t like it but it gets better I want to watch flim but should read books first
For readers hesitant about reading Stephen King , I suggest they read The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. I shows off his writing ability without being Weird
The Shining followed by The Stand. I have came down with the flu every time I’ve read The Stand which always makes it fun. I prefer his older books to his newer ones and I sometimes think I’m the only Stephen King fan who didn’t like the Dark Tower series.
We’re blood sisters now, so I’ll tell you my secret shame… I’ve never been able to read “It”!! I know, it’s shocking. I’ve tried 3 times now but just can’t get into it. And I’ve been a Constant Reader for nearly 30 years ?
It’s a toss up for me. I love The Stand, but, I also love Rose Madder. I love Stephen King’s books, period. It’s like trying to pick your favorite child?
I seem to be in a minority, but my favourite is The Tommyknockers. It was my first King book, I’d never read anything like it before having mainly stuck to the classics before, and it blew my mind.
Misery followed by 11/22/63
The stand followed by the shining
The Girl who Loved Tom Jordon.
I loved that book too
??? The Shining. Carrie. Blaze. Salem’s Lot…and a couple of others… I can’t decide lol
