Maya Angelou is a favourite of mine, and Leonard Cohan’s ‘The Flame’ was beautifully done too.

I dont usually do poetry, but I’ve loved Amanda Lovelace’s Women are Some Kind of Magic series. it’s not a style that everyone likes, but her second book “the witch doesnt burn in this one” hit me HARD. ♡♡

also, it’s very trans-inclusive, which too many feminist type writings have a tendency to not be.♡

My two favorites are Fernando Pessoa and Rainer Maria Rilke. For Pessoa I highly recommend his Book of Disquiet before any of his poetry. It’s like poetry in prose…

I second Amanda Lovelace. I have all of her currently published books and all of them are wonderful. She is LGBTQ+ inclusive and POC inclusive. I honestly can’t reccomend her enough.

Listen to the Warm by Rod McKuen (it may be a few decades old . . . but it still touches my heart.)
