I bought a book the other day and, after the cashier finished ringing me up, she put the receipt between the pages and said ‘here’s your free bookmark.’

Growing up in germany but living in Canada now, always being a Book lover and collector, when you buy a book in Germany, you always have the choice to have your book wrapped up as a gift. I always let it be wrapped as a gift to myself and when ever I wanna read it, the excitement is as great as at the time of buying the book once I unwrapped it! But yes, buying lots of books anyway, a free bookmark is must but on the other hand I rather choose a personal picture or postcard or letter (peace of paper) etc. as a little reminder of what I love (and maybe miss) besides the reading itself…

Wich bookstore cause tahlia . Used to be gondrom doesn’t do that . Neither does Weltbild .

Heymann?! All of them, even if you have to ask for it, they do it….customer service has improved in germany and was always good…”Bookmark”? Why? Why not using another kind of paper, like a personal picture or postcard or letter etc. Building up a deeper or personal connection with the book your gonna read, thats what it is about…for me anyways…loving every page and whats in between but a reminder of a bookstore advertisement etc., no no

Oh I don’t have that one near me . But you might be right that I have to ask . Gehe oft gondrom für die Kinder 🙂

As much as I like this idea, I’d rather see them print books on paper that doesn’t yellow and crack after only a year or two, and go back to sewing the pages in.

That would be an awesome way to track, commemorate the books you’ve read.
