I disliked her and the book at first. And probably in the middle too. But then it got really good and I didn’t want to put it down. Now it is a book I am sure I will read again.
Yes it was a struggle for me too. But felt in the end it was worth it. I’ve found some books don’t grab me at first but do end up teaching me something. That was true of Eleanor.
I absolutely loved it, but that doesn’t mean anyone else is obligated to do so. I prefer when my IRL club is divided on a title because it makes for the best discussion. Is less fun when everyone universally loves the title.
I was “eh” until I reached the last few chapters. It does pick up, but not until the very end, which was a bummer for me—I wanted to like the whole thing, lol!
Have you finished it?
You must finish it before making your final opinion. ?
I’m about halfway thru and struggling to make it, but I’m determined to finish it! Plus I challenged my d aughter to read more books than me!
Halfway through too. Struggling too.
I’m really trying to get into it, but struggling.
I’m about halfway. I really don’t like or care about the characters. I’m listening at this point simply for the Mom storyline.
Give it time
I didn’t like it
I gave up. I couldn’t find a redeeming quality.
Just keep going!!!
Same! I want to know what happened to her face, but I’m tempted to Google that and be done with it!
That’s a great idea.
I just started listening to it today and I already like it a lot! She’s very quirky and I’m intrigued to know what the back story is.
I really liked it!
I finally gave up
I forced thru…it was ok. I wont force read again.
I just finished it and really loved the ending!
Yes hang in there. She grows on you…in a good way.
Agreed! I’m glad I stuck with it.
Me neither ??
I trudged through it and was relieved to be done with it. It never did grow on me.
I wasn’t too sure about it either. But it ended up pretty good.
I liked it, it was different.
She grows on you! Give it time

Agree. Wasn’t a fan.
I agree!
Same. Pushed myself to finish and thought it was just ok.
I enjoyed it
Awww, I loved her! I enjoyed the book and will definitely read it again 🙂
I felt a bit deceived by the cover and description. It got way darker than I expected.
I couldn’t finish it :/
Me either, I didn’t finish it
I liked this book and Eleanor. I felt sorry for her, I assumed she had an undiagnosed disability.
I agree.
SAME.
I just started it
I finally made it through, but it was a slow read. There is an interesting twist at the end however.
Oh, I’m ADORING it!
Ok, I finished it. Better than I had expected, but kinda weird. ?
SAME
I’m finding it easy to put down….gonna keep trying!
Agreed!
I’m just over halfway into the book now and I’m just starting to enjoy it.
I agree. I gave up on it.
disliked it. I stuck it through, and was so disappointed.
I really liked it
for me, it took a while to get into, but in the end i loved it. She reminded me of a female Ove.
Totally agree. Loved Ove also.
I know!! I’m on page 160, so far it’s just ok

It had been awhile since I have read a book, that you didn’t write.
I loved it!
Same.
I loved it!
SAME
Me too. Couldn’t really get into it.
I loved it but not until the end.
Everyone has their own opinions. I loved it
It took me six or seven chapters to get into it, I felt exactly like you did. She grew on me though!!
I enjoyed it but put it down several times so…
Same! It was just “eh”.
I was “eh” until I reached the last few chapters. It does pick up, but not until the very end, which was a bummer for me—I wanted to like the whole thing, lol!
Same, I made myself finish it but I found it extremely predictable. It wasn’t the worst thing I’ve ever read but I don’t get the fuss.
