BOTH I love a real book, definitely prefer it, but ebooks are so nice to read at night without waking my husband

Exactly! Plus then I can read in the shower or if I’m tired and want the light off ♥️

E-books! The only way I can fit in so much reading is because of the convenience of an e-reader. I read while folding laundry, putting up the dishes, walking on the treadmill, in bed every night…no way could I do that with a physical book. Plus my toddler can’t ruin the pages of an e-reader like she can a physical book. ???

This is all that I wanted to say. I agree completely!

I have nearly 3,000 books and about the same number of ebooks. It’s the story that matters.

Love everything about a book: feel, smell, looking for books at the library or store. Electronics especially computer bothers my eyes and gives me a headache after awhile

Physical books. I think it’s a great feeling holding them in your hands. Also, I don’t know what it is but something about looking at them makes me happy

I vastly prefer books but I have a Kindle because I travel A LOT and I’ve been living abroad in various countries since 2015. Until I settle down in a city, I can’t buy more than several books a year.

Even though my novel is published as an ebook, I don’t personally consider an ebook to be a book. Emotionally it’s more of a Xerox of a book, a facsimile of a book. Yet that’s what so many people read today, so I felt it had to have it come out that way and my future pubs will come out that way too. Personally I have some that are for reference, and they’re great for travel guides or whatever—you can take a lot of info with you wherever you’re going without having to pack books in a suitcase—but for pleasure reading I must have paper.

A side note: Several years ago, when ereaders were relatively new, I saw everyone reading them. I see a lot of these same people now, in coffee shops, for example, and now they’re reading paper books again. I ask about their ereaders and they say they got tired of them, or didn’t enjoy books as much on them. That’s largely how I felt from day one.

It’s gotta be both. Kindles are great for travelling and night time reading. And when the real book is as big as a housebrick!

I just finished an e-book on my tablet but I’ve got two more on there and four books on my coffee table at the moment. I’ll be listening to an audiobook on my tablet soon as well. I like to give my eyes a rest so I switch to the audiobook occasionally so my brain can continue to fire up my imagination. I prefer actual books but I love e-books and audiobooks as well.

It depends. Sometimes if it’s a book there isn’t much info on or a new author I’ll buy the EBook since they are usually cheaper. If it a series that I love and an author that I like a lot, I’ll invest in hardcover or softcover.

Ebooks: the maximum of temptation (armchair library access and shopping online) and the minimum of others realizing just how many books you really have and declaring you insane.
