Here’s a few off of the top of my head. They all have shifter but aren’t strictly limited to werewolfs. They range from lighter reads to much darker ones.

Suzanne Wright has two series, The Phoenix Pack and The Mercury Pack.

Maria Lewis has the Tommi Greyson series.

The Others by Anne Bishop.

As a few other people have said Patricia Briggs has the amazing Mercy Thompson series and Alpha and Omega.

Ilona Andrews has Kaye Daniels which features shifters.

Nalini Singh has the Psy Changling series.

D.B Reynolds has a book called Shifter Planet.

Faith Hunter has the Jane Yellowrock series.

Danae Ayusso has the Wolves of Haven series.

J.C Daniels has the Kit Colbana series.

Dannika Dark has the Seven series.

Helen Harper has the Blood Destiny Series.

Kresley Cole has the Immortals After Dark which has lots of creatures but does include shifters.

Alexandra Ivy has the Branded packs series.

You can try the White Wolf books. Most are guides for roleplaying, but some are novels or short story collections, and they even have a cookbook with tribal werewolf culture.

Anne Rice has two books, waiting for the third, but they are typical Ann Rice. I think (and I have it!) the first one is ‘Wolf’. Check it out!

One of my favorites is the Lycan Law series by Nicki Charles. I also recommend Mercy Thompson by Patricia Briggs but I see it’s already been posted.

this is the first book, there are three, Go Fetch and Here Kitty Kitty. I loved these, I’ve read them at least 4 times…. I laugh out loud every time. It’s super funny and has some good action scenes.

Haven by Mary Lindsey. She really develops the mythology in a unique way.
