I use it! You put in the types of books you like and it gives you suggestion from Amazon that are free. Not great stuff every day, but some days are pretty okay.
I use it you only get one email a day with the days advertised books
Also check out bookbub,bookgorilla, the Gutenberg project. You can set the email preferences on most of them. I rarely get more than 1 per day
I dont use it but I have an email addres specifically for websites i think may spam me so id just use that for websites im unsure of.
