I love Scribd. You don’t own the books but unlimited audio, ebooks etc…about $13 a month

I just use Project Gutenberg and Internet Archive to source classic books, with the occasional foray to other sites like Manybooks, Ebooks @ Adelaide, Faded Page, Roy Glashan’s Library, and Project Gutenberg Canada and PG Australia. Since they’re all public domain texts, they don’t have the most recent editions or translations, but they’re usually adequate.
