Does anyone use a Nook or Kindle? What do you suggest? I’m wanting to get one but I am not sure which one is better. Thanks!

I have a nook. I put the Kindle app on it so I have access to my NOOK books and my Kindle books. I would guess that you can do it the other way around as well? If that is the case I don’t think it matters which one you get…

Awesome. I didn’t know you could do this!! That’s great! My Kindle Paperwhite doesn’t accept apps, but I would guess other Kindle versions have this feature, too.

I have the nook app and the Kindle app on my phone. That way I can read at work when I have nothing else to do…

Tara

@NicolaI also mostly use the Kindle. I’ve actually only read a handful books. Amazon is just too easy…

I’ve had both and I highly recommend the kindle over the nook. It just suddenly died just after a year of purchasing it. Plus, idk if this is still the case, but it also cost quite a bit more than my kindle fire did.

I’ve owned four Kindles over the years. The last three died when I dropped them in the bathtub. LOL be sure to use the book bub website to download discounted books and lots of freebies. I have over 700 books on my Kindle and I still have plenty a room for more.

In my opinion the paperwhite is the best.

They’re really not expensive. Where you run into money is buying books. It’s very seductive.

^thats what I have…got it after my husband told me if I kept buying books we’d have to live in a tent outside as our house wouldn’t have room for us

@Katy my husband got tired of our dogs finding our books and tearing them up! It’s honestly been a lifesaver and I like that the quality is just so amazing. I prefer it over our iPad too!

I have a Kindle fire and I never use the thing. It’s too bulky and heavy and the screen is too small.

I think it’s slow. It’s terrible to do anything other than read on. I wanted it so bad and now I hate it.

I hated the Nook we had, but loved every Kindle.

I would recommend the Nook. Kindle books are a different format to all others and therefore harder to access, eg my library don’t have kindle books and I am always borrowing from the library.

I use a Kindle paper white. I was so excited to buy it and love love love it!! I use it every night when putting my girls to sleep. Best one ever!! (Only negative is that some children’s books don’t work on the paper white- but work fine on the app on a smart phone so I just use that)

I love my kindle. I have a paper white, fire, and use the kindle app on my phone and tablet. Depending on where I’m using it or what I’m reading. I had a nook a long time ago, but feel like I got a better selection of books with the kindle. Another plus of any e-reader is if you finish a book after store hours and want to start another book you can get it in seconds.

Also check out freebooksy. You choose the types of books you like to read and everyday they send you an email with books that are available for free. They also have a bargain book version so you can read those at a greatly discounted rate. Usually no more than 3.99 or so. And it’s a fee service so no fees

I know this isn’t what you asked but if you haven’t already, check with your library to see if they have an e book app. Free books all the time, audio too.

I had a Nook and didn’t like it after using it a while. I’m now using my Kindle paperwhite more because it fit in the pocket of my pursebut I absolutely love my kindle oasis.

Library ebooks can be sent to kindle and nook. You just know how to set it up. The Library ebooks are sent to kindle seamlessly.i have borrowed many books through Overdrive and have them delivered through amazon to my kindle.

I have a kindle because, IMO, Amazon runs more 99c sales and free books specials and generally offers more ebooks at lower prices as compared to B & N. Though, if you prefer the look and feel of the Nook over the Kindle, you can use conversion programs to acquire ebooks through Kindle and convert them to Nook ebooks and transfer them to your Nook.

Kindle for sure. And get the one that has the back light so you can read in the dark!
