Dr. Jason Fung. He has several books and many YouTube videos. Our doctor recommended him.

This book is excellent. I work with a guy that is using it – got off his meds and his blood sugar is great now. I have diabetes on my family and using this book and going on Whole 30 which they align on almost all aspects. My blood sugar is so good I am thrilled!

There is hope. I know several people who have completely reversed all their markers of Type 2 diabetes by following this book. Just remember you can reverse Type 2 diabetes but you can NOT reverse the damage it does to your body so the sooner you get this under control the better!

What are you wanting info about? Diet, exercise, medication, etc. The American Diabetes Association website is a good place to start. I also have other info based on what you are needing info about.

@Jennifer thank you! I found the page. We’re having issues with the food also. I have some diabetic cookbooks, and magazines. I just need to try and understand it better. I was told I was borderline diabetic a couple years ago, and I have not followed up since then, so I’m sure this will help me a lot also.

It can be so overwhelming! If you are in the US, call the number on the back of your insurance card and ask what he has available. Hopefully a dietician is covered. They are wonderful.

A good way to start is by using the plate method. You can read about it on the diabetes website. It’s an easy way to start. There are a lot of people who use the keto diet, but evidence-based medicine does not support that. Stick with ADA and known sources, and you will be good.

@Tori, scroll up to see the TEDx video I posted as a reply on Dana’s comment! She explains Type II in clear terms, and gives great information on what to do, and what not to do. It can be reversed!

@Laura I disagree with your info. As I said, I am a nurse and have seen how the plate method works, time and again. I have personal experience, like you, with diabetes. The ketogenic diet has so many studies, as does the plate method. The ketogenic diet causes harm in other ways. I will not argue the point with you. There are facts that back me up. I am glad you are better, but please do not post on my thread giving false information. I am off to work today, so will not see it anyway today. I respected your post. Please respect mine.

@Jennifer, no disrespect intended. I think it’s up to all of us to do our own research and make our own decisions.

I reversed my diabetes by following the guidelines in Dr. Bernstein’s guide. It’s an older book (90’s). Very similar advice to some of the other books mentioned. I felt very lost when I was diagnosed. Took me a while to get a plan. There’s so much info out there it’s hard to find your own path. Wish you the best!

I reversed my Type 2 with a low carb/ketogenic diet. I’ve been diabetes-free for 5 years. You can do it! PM me if you want a bit more info. Coincidentally, I posted this TEDx video just a few hours ago. As she said, and I’ve been preaching for years, do not follow the ADA guidelines – they will keep you sick!
