Does anyone have a reading dry spell where you don’t read for an extended period of time?

Yes, creeping slowly out of a dry spell now.
Never. Always have a current book going. Speed of reading it may just depend on how busy the week goes. I change a book every week. If I haven’t finished it, I’ll go back to it in a couple of weeks
I don’t count. I read stupid fast and can put away 4 cozies, or two regular novels, before noon
Yeah i do I do something elsa then go back to it
Yep
I didn’t exactly have a dry spell but I had a spell when it seemed I was interrupted every five minutes and for a few days I was almost too frustrated to get back into the book 🙂 when I read I want to be taken away to another place, another time, and you can’t do that in 5 minute bites lol
When I am writing like I have been this year, I know people say you should read to become a better writer and I wholeheartedly agree with that, but don’t have enough time to do both sufficiently. I go to France in January for a holiday though so will use this chance to tackle my ever growing TBR!
Yes.
I had it for 5 years
Stress from university and life. I slept a lot
Not yet…
Reading slumps? they are the worst
Yes…. my reading gets affected by my depression and it drives me crazy… usually just try to re-read a favorite book
That’s the worst. Sorry ?
Yes. I tend to overread so much I burn myself out and have to take a break.
Yep
Yes, but I continue to buy bargain Kindle books! However, I always have an audio book to listen to during my commute.
Yes.
No, I’d.go crazy
Yes.

Yes when I have migraines this last summer had them everyday in July plus some in June and August was the heat and humidity and bright sunshine
Yes I dont know why
When my irritating restless legs act up I can’t sit still to read.
It happens now and then.
Sadly yes, its called working
Yes. I just come off one. It was almost 6 months. ?
All this year ? I’m hoping the new year brings my enthusiasm back.
i tend to go through stages…I won’t read at all for a couple of months (except whatever I have to read for school) and then I’ll binge read and read like 10 books in 2 weeks or something crazy
I think I get like this when a book ends badly. Then I dont wanna read for a week or longer.
Um, only when my kids were small and I never had the time. Other than that I’ve read for the last 40 years.
Yes, then I reread books that made me happy.
Yeah, all the time. Most people, even those that love reading, don’t do it constantly. Most people don’t do anything constantly, life gets in the way and interests shift.
Yessss
Yes …
Yup or just can’t stay focused on reading. But still snag freebies when I can
Yes.
Yes
The last three summers I’ve had trouble reading. This summer I discovered that it’s much easier for me to read graphic novels, thrillers, and light and fluffy books that I wouldn’t normally pick up. That really helped me get through the summer slump.
Yes, lasted about three hours.
Never ever
I had this problem a few years back, lasted a couple of months, but nothing before or since….weird. Never want that to happen again.
Yes. I’m in one now.
Not yet anyways.
Yes, I hate it but I’m single with 4 kids, I get crazy tired and just can’t focus on my books
Only when I’m sewing
When I’m doing artsy stuff like drawing or painting and writing.
Post op ( major op), but when I was up to reading again, started with easy books I’d read before. That’s a good way to get out of a slump for me.
Yes! I’m just getting over one! I’m making my own reading challenge for 2018 to keep me on track!
NEVER!!
Sadly that’s me ryt now, stress and time. 🙁 I can’t even believe it.
me at the moment. I’m having trouble settling into anything.
Yes, I went years. When I started reading again I realized I shouldn’t have gone so long. I never realized how much it changes me.
yeah in it rn
Yes all the time…I would ready approx 5 to 10 books..then nothing for months…I now a have a collection for books to read
I used to. Now that I’m retired it doesn’t seem to happen as much.
Yes all the time
rarely but it has happened, I’m actually in a lil bit of one right now. Usually, I read two or three books at a time. Right now I’m reading one book and so slowly
Me atm but it’s a fatigue thing! 😉
yes when I am too busy at work
Not in 56 years….
Yes I’m going through one now
You’re so busy right now!
Yeah out happens usually when im going thru severe stress
Should add my concentration just not there
I tend to have writing dry spells, during which I usually read more. 😀
