Yep! I also look at it for a quick show of genre. I don’t like to, but with hundreds of TBR books, I try not to buy that many books but sometimes a catchy cover will get me.
Yep. Bought books because of their cover that were awesome! And others that were terrible lol. I have probably passed up good books because of bad covers too.
Yes. I’ve never specifically bought something because I like the cover but I have specifically *not* bought something because of the cover. And I’ve bought things after reading the synopsis when I only bothered to look because the cover was interesting. The cover says a lot about the author’s own idea of what the world of the book is. I personally avoid overly detailed covers with characters and faces so specifically drawn or (worse) photographed. The description of the world and character should be well written enough to give the reader a mental picture without literally giving them…a picture.
I used to, but if I did that now I wouldn’t have read half the books that I like now. Now I go to B&N and pick out books, sit there and read the synopsis and some parts in the book to determine if I wanna read it orrrrr go on goodreads for my next book ☺️
