Me too. It can take months for me to read a book. I just can’t get into anything. I blame my mobile phone (distraction!) and my young children! ?

Me. But I find it’s a great way for me to relax. Admittedly it takes me longer to read a book but I don’t begrudge myself for it ?

If you’re falling asleep anywhere you are at any point of the day, maybe you’re not choosing the right books. I’d start by picking one you think will keep your attention the most and keep you wanting more. And go from there. It happens to the best of us. It has indeed happened to me as well.

Yes always fall asleep when I read in bed before I go to sleep & then can’t remember a thing that I’ve read the night before so have to reread it all over again the next night never actually get anywhere!!! I feel like I’ve been on the same chapter of the same book for 5 years!!!! ????

My book falls off the bed or I go to sleep with the book on my stomach. Ì have a book light attached to my headboard. It is super bright. That has worked for me. They are inexpensive too.

I wish! It has the opposite effect on me. I start reading thinking I’ll just read a chapter or two, and look up at the clock thinking it’s been 30 minutes when in reality it’s been 4 hours ? I’ve had many sleepless nights because of getting hooked into a new book.

But reading and dozing go so well together! Don’t fight it! Lol it’s lovely that a book can give you some rest too – entertainment, rest , repeat.

It’s a really nice way to fall asleep, very relaxing. That being said I have stayed up all night reading an entire novel because I just couldn’t stop turning the pages.

Really gets to me but find it happens more in the evening than in the morning,do have an hour of reading on my day off first thing in the morning and weekends x

That happens to me if I read in bed. Try limiting yourself to twenty minutes of reading, then get up and do something else (or just walk around/make a coffee/grab a biscuit) then go back for another twenty minutes reading.

I think that for some people, we spend most of our lives running around like idiots trying to fit everything in, so the moment we stop and sit down, our bodies automatically go into sleep mode.

Tamara

Totally agree with your last statement. When we finally sit our bodies are like ‘YESSSSSS! Sleeepy time!’

Me too .. agree with you … I feel tired enough to sleep any time of day if i sit still…. xxxx

Eat an apple – but not in bed!

Andrea

Yep! Particularly if I prop up the book and lay on my side to read it. I sometimes find that a bright light helps (in the morning). In the evening, I’m happy to just drift off.

Start reading earlier. I have to watch that I don’t stay up too late reading so it’s a blessing to fall asleep.

I have the opposite problem. If I’m into a book I will literally stay up til 3 or 4 in the morning then sit there wondering how the hell that happened…turn on Netflix and I’m out in minutes haha
