I think there have been several shows, primarily mysteries, that created book series for their characters. “Murder she Wrote,” and “Castle (is that even the name?” come to mind. I haven’t read them but I’ve seen them.

Susan Holly, the Castle books are awesome and are just as funny and good as the show. I’ve read them all and a few of the Derrick Storm books.

I mean that the show was based around not just history of Louis XIV. I love this show. I’m waiting for all of season 3 to air so I can binge watch it and then be sad its cancelled.

@Lawona I did too. But, I religiously watched the series too. The only parts I truly disliked were what some of the characters looked like and the theme song. ?

I think there are very few where the TV show came first. I’m trying to think of some, but, apart from Castle, which was already mentioned, I’m at a loss.
Gosh, I totally forgot about Dr Who. There are a lot of follow-on adventures for each doctor and other important characters as well.
