Yes, but only if I’m genuinely interested in the person (or the career choice they have, like I loved Charlotte Dujardin’s book, because I love riding)
yep, but ones where they have been through great traumas and come out the other end. Like “Ellie: daughter of the holocaust”; “A child called IT”; “Dessert flower” and “Dessert Dawn”; “My Father, maker of the Trees”; “Left to tell”; “Child C”; “Scarred”; “Daughter of China” etc
Sometimes,I do. I have read some autobiographies, too. I read a really well-written biography on Judy Garland a few years ago and some of the best autobiographies I have read are ones by Annette Funicello and Ann-Margaret. I also read Wildflower by Drew Barrymore and that was good.
Maybe it’s just my personal bias, but I’m now focussed solely on non-fiction and biographies/autobiographies.
Same for me — letters and memoir as well.
As I’ve gotten older, I guess I prefer to be edified as opposed to be simply entertained by what I read.
I enjoy memoirs.
First Man was a fascinating read.
I read ‘a’ couple.
I like Alan Cumming’s Not My Father’s Son, but I don’t normally read in that genre very often.
Loved that one….broke my heart a bit too!
I identified with the emotions, even though the events of my life have been very different.

I loved Katey Sagals
Absolutely — more than fiction.
I really liked unbroken

few of them
I love them!
Yes? also memoirs.?
Yep….only of people I like or find interesting/fascinating. That’s probably true of most of us though.?
No autobiographies for me. I think writing about oneself is a bit conceited. I do like memoirs.
Love biographies, gives me insight to other lives as well as careers.
I like most biographies.
Yes , I have some biographies of movie stars and politicians
Love biographies, especially those about history such as Hamilton, Jefferson, etc.

@Dorothy That sounds like it will be good.

Wow! I didn’t expect so many responses, thank’s everyone, I asked since Feruary is Black History Month, which also fascinates me.
@Ron, I loved the movie and had to read the book. I recommend it if you haven’t read it yet.
Yes. Mostly musicians and, recently, comedians. I read David Spade’s book Almost Interesting a few months ago. Such a funny book.
