That’s just made me curious now. I’ve never read anything else of his. I’m sure I only read On The Road because it’s one of those books that you’re ‘meant’ to read.
I have tried to read this several times over the years, but have not managed to get through it yet. I find that I have less patience with this sort of book now and don’t pressure myself to carry on reading something I am not enjoying.

It took 40 years and 3 or 4 tries for me, but yes! It was worth it!
Wow! Just had to be the right time?
Yes, and thus my theory of the timing of books evolved…
I read it, many years ago. I can’t say it’s left a lasting impression on me, and I can’t remember a lot about it now.

Just because Rory Gilmore raved about it I decided not to read it lol
I enjoyed it. Didn’t bother to read any reviews and had no idea it was a modern classic when I did. Fun read.
Didnt like it
Had trouble with it myself, like the idea of renegade lifestyles and all….just didn’t grab me.
