But then it sounds too… robotic…

@Dawn I always listen to them at 1.40 speed. Unless the narrator has a high pitched voice, or normally talks fast. Then I’ll turn it down to 1.20 speed.

I find they sound funny and it’s too distracting to speed them up…I focus in on the odd sound rather than the story

Yes but I dont have time to sit and read much so I would finish an audiobook faster

Yes!! A lot faster.. however I cannot be in my seat with a book in my hands all the time so finishing an audiobook is often in a shorter time period than reading a paper book.

Yes! I’ve grabbed the book from the library a couple of times because I just want to finish it and the audiobook was taking too long.

Definitely. In fact I’ve learned that listening to mysteries or thrillers on audiobook is much too frustrating. I want to know who did it and I want to know NOW!!!! I find that books with lots of descriptive language and not a lot of language are better choices for me for audiobooks. I enjoy listening to them in small chunks (half an hour to and from work), and don’t get so impatient if I have to leave in the middle of the action.
