I have a group of about 5 to 7 books that are in my TBR pile, and I usually pull from there…and then repopulate books into the TBR pile…unfortunately this means that I might have a book or two there for many months…
I have a veritable conveyor belt that never ceases. I take a book or two back to the library and bring home another two or so to replace them. All while my TBR pile is still in effect lol.
I read a lot of non-fiction and while I don’t plan on what to read next, I try to stick to one of my major interest areas or else I would be overwhelmed by books.
I try and read my favorite authors first then go on to the books that I have bought and are new authors or are authors that have been recommended by friends and people
No, ususally what I´m reading at the time determines what I´ll read afterwards so I never know what I’ll read next, also most of what I read is academic stuff so I just hav eto follow the links
First, I have to make sure book club book is read. Secondly, if I have a new release due at library that takes priority. Then it’s whatever I’m in mood for.
Both. I kind of have an idea what books I want to read next. And borrow them from the library and I typically read them as they arrive. Sometimes a book will arrive I’m not in the mood to read (Ie: a biography when I really am in the mood for fiction) and then its a random choice.
90% of the time it’s completely random
Me too. I think I know what I want to read next and then decide something different at the last moment.
I load up the Kindle with a variety. When it’s time for a new read I generally choose from them according to my mood.
I am a mood reader, so a reading list is rarely planned.
Random most of the time. Unless I’m in the middle of a series that left me on a good cliffhanger and I have to read the next book.
I have a list and I throw a random one in every once in a while.
No, but i should! I usually choose on a whim or fancy
Random, usually depending on what library holds come in.
Random .. It’s usually once I finish a series I will read one or two random non series books and than read another series and repeat.
Random
Random
100% random based on my mood and what I feel like reading.
Random on how I am feeling. I’ll choose a few to bring to the hospital where I volunteer and choose one to read while I’m at lunch
I have a list of things I would like to read but don’t do a certain order or anything
Randomly.
I always plan a list.. and I never stick to it.
But I enjoy making them!
Already started my list for 2019.
Random
I’m a list person. I’m way too type A to not have one. ?
Random
I read an author.. all of their books then move on to next author..I do read some other books at same time. Those books are random
Lol
I just pick one of my shelf !
Usually plan since I get my books at the library, but since I’m building my little personal library at home it’ll soon just be random
I’m usually doing one book challenge or another so I have them vaguely planned out
I have a group of about 5 to 7 books that are in my TBR pile, and I usually pull from there…and then repopulate books into the TBR pile…unfortunately this means that I might have a book or two there for many months…
I do both, sometimes I feel like I need some kind of direction, and having a list of books helps me out, when other times, I will just grab one.
Randomly, but I generally have 3 going at a time. 2 now because I finished one last night/

My books sit on bookshelf waiting in a queue.
I read a lot of non-fiction and while I don’t plan on what to read next, I try to stick to one of my major interest areas or else I would be overwhelmed by books.
Generally, I choose from my 18 page TBR List. Not always though.
Random

Randomly
I try and read my favorite authors first then go on to the books that I have bought and are new authors or are authors that have been recommended by friends and people
Random, though I must admit, I am highly influenced by what arrives in the mail each week.
@Kurio now that I can’t do. I’m very ocd about my books facing the right way and authors who I like first
I try to plan, but I’m a mood reader.
I plan a TBR and after the first book I go random.
List
I plan my TBR down to the week, then proceed to ignore it and choose books randomly. ?
@Jhen yes! This. Lol.
I plan stick to it for a week or two then ignore it and randomly pick whatever I want to read.
This isn’t my normal shelf. This is just my extra one. The randomness helps me enjoy them more instead of overthinking it
Randomly. It depends on my mood.
The same…randomly.
I plan a list but I never end up following the list haha
I have a list. Once in a while I pick up one of the books. Mostly its random
I keep a basket in the living room for my “next up” books but I don’t always stick to the order – sometimes I rotate depending on my mood.
randomly
Usually a list.
A list
I have a Goodreads ‘Want To Read’ shelf but I also search Libby or my library for something on the spur of the moment.
I never have a plan, cuz they ALWAYS end up changing
No, ususally what I´m reading at the time determines what I´ll read afterwards so I never know what I’ll read next, also most of what I read is academic stuff so I just hav eto follow the links
It is usually the one on the top of the pile unless I find something in the library or have to read for my reading group
I Have a stack beside my bed – but I change it frequently. So just because I have it “planned” does not mean I will follow that plan 🙂
Yes.
I have an idea but then go on my gut feeling xx
Randomly out of a pile
Get ideas from the book groups I belong to
Random-I’ve tried lists and just made myself anxious trying to follow it.
Totally random
Random
Random?
mostly in order of when they went on by TBR list
Generally random.
depends on previous book read.
randomly ..
Random. Sometimes if I gone it is part of a series I will end up reading the whole series.
Randomly
First, I have to make sure book club book is read.
Secondly, if I have a new release due at library that takes priority. Then it’s whatever I’m in mood for.
Randomly
With a lot of to-be-read, i plan ahead as to what to read next.. First bought, first read ?
I have a list I’m planning to read but it’s more of a wish-list because it’s books I’m still yet to get.
I have to have been thinking about it for a while ?
I jump around and it’s whatever interests me or I want to learn about. I’ve about 10 on the go.
I plan a list from my tbr when I go to the library or to HPB, but when they don’t have the books, I usually end up winging it.
Whatever catches my eye usually
i keep a stack of 15 in easy reach and refill as needed
